I just have to do this, not minding the pain or shame. I am a very shy person and I hate losing my dignity in the sight of people who hold, or once held, me in high esteem.

It took a great deal of courage for me to come on X and ask for help, knowing how toxic the platform can be and how many people are waiting like lions to pounce on someone's predicament.

For the past few weeks, I have been contemplating a lot and having many dangerous thoughts running through my mind. I know some of those thoughts should not be entertained as a child of God, but that is what makes us human.

I ran into debts totaling over ₦1 million due to several situations:

1. Earlier this year, I was earning less than ₦100,000 monthly. My two siblings' WAEC registration cost me about ₦200,000.

2. I had to set up a business for my mum because what I was earning was not enough to feed my family or support her and my siblings. I invested about ₦250,000 into the business in Kogi State where she resides, but due to insecurity in the community, I had to relocate her back to my hometown and everything went back to square one.

3. My wife gave birth in February this year and had complications that required surgery and blood transfusions. Three bags of O-negative blood at ₦50,000 each, along with other medical expenses, cost me over ₦500,000.

Even though I have managed to clear over ₦500,000 of the debt, the interest payments have made things very difficult. Thankfully, I recently got a new job offer around the Abuja axis that will pay me over ₦250,000 monthly.

However, my entire salary currently goes into servicing loans I took from individuals because I had no other option.

Imagine borrowing ₦100,000 and paying back ₦130,000 within a month, repeatedly, more than five times.

I have to relocate to my new job location before the end of this week. I was able to secure a house for ₦350,000, but I still have a balance of ₦100,000 to pay before today ends.

As it stands, I need ₦250,000 to:

- Complete the ₦100,000 rent balance
- Cover ₦50,000 transportation costs for relocation
- Have ₦100,000 to survive through the month

To completely clear my debts, I need about ₦500,000, either as a loan or assistance. If it is a loan with a reasonable interest rate, I can comfortably repay ₦50,000 monthly without being choked financially.

I even listed my Marstek S500s solar generator for sale on Jiji in hopes of raising about ₦250,000, but there has been no positive result so far.

Please, I need help. I am tired of suffering in silence while my BP keeps increasing daily. 😭

I also have a business idea to provide internet services in my locality through Starlink installations, which could generate over ₦200,000 in additional monthly income. I already have over 50 people willing to subscribe to the service at a discounted monthly fee of ₦2,000.

I have been depressed for over a month now. Three years ago, I lost over ₦3 million in farming investments, and I have never truly recovered from that setback. Since then, I have focused on my career, working 12-hour shifts from 7am to 7pm.

I know I need help. Maybe this is the boldest step I have taken this year. I am writing this with tears in my eyes.
