A Day in the Life of Modern Britain.

(My “lived experience” only)

Took 5 different trains. All different companies. From different stations.

ALL delayed. 2 cancelled.

Vomit in 2 of the toilets. Graffiti in 4. FOUR.

Got home, eventually.

Received 2 messages from companies I’d paid for overnight delivery, saying , 3 days after ordering, they were still “in transit”. Can’t actually phone anyone. They don’t respond to emails, apparently.

Received another update on the government’s plan to bulldoze half of the protected green spaces in & around my village, to be told that we have to, yet again, form “a task force” to preserve our way of life. Given a week to place objections on a deliberately difficult-to-access website. Most of my neighbours are elderly & would have no chance to object, without enormous help. Which we shall provide.

Brown letters pouring through the door. I open them & think “How, just HOW, am I going to pay these?”

Had a discussion with my truly marvellous & supportive agent, who’s been in business for years, who tells me things are just bloody awful & getting worse by the second. Industry totally saturated with, gagged by & in thrall to cultural vandals, who wish to police every opinion to make sure they are the “correct” ones…

I could go on, but I’m sure you get the picture & can relate to much.

So one @British_Airways yesterday, rescheduled from 11am to 10pm.

Now they’ve diverted my flight back to Manchester as they don’t have enough fuel to wait to land in any airport in London after a fire at Heathrow.

It gets WORSE. Now trains aren’t running from Manchester either after a massive power outage.
