Today @WilkieMP called on the Gov to urgently intervene in the cases of @Richard_D_Boyle and @MurdochCadell. Right now in Australia it is whistleblowers who pay the price when they expose wrongdoing. This needs to stop. We urgently need a whistleblower protection commission.
An added bonus of Prof Tracey Bunda & I meeting with some of the students whoโve signed up to be mentors was hearing them excitedly say they support the #VoicetoParliament & intend to #VoteYes!
This week, an Indigenous woman whom I met on TikTok will be in Canberra. Weโre meeting up. *She* is giving *me* a present (it should be the other way around).
Meโa direct descendant of an English convict and an Irish settlerโuniting with a First Nations woman.
THAT is unity.
The โnoโ campโs handful of gravel approach. Chuck it and hope to hit something, anything. It is unbecoming of a just and modern polity. @canberratimes
In the absence of a clear plan for what comes next, and the courage to actually do the work to create & communicate it this Government is simply doing exactly what the last one did. #leadership: true & tough - is long overdue #climatejustice is a #humanright
@Sophiemcneill@Kon__K@climatecouncil@tanya_plibersek What is the matter with the politicians? Do they think they and their families are going to be quarantined from the impacts of the freight train that is #climateemergency bearing down upon us. Humans are like lemmings heading over the cliff.
I have the highest respect for Tanya Hosch, AFL General Manager of Inclusion and Social Policy for leaving hospital after a lower limb amputation to speak at the referendum launch yesterday. What an admirable warrior woman for her people. Seeing her standing on one leg is a graphic reminder of the dangers of type two diabetes. Thank you for your courage and advocacy for recognition and reconciliation. โค๏ธ๐๐ค ๐ #yes23 #YES @theTiser@tanyahosch
