#OUB329#Wk17- This week was about leadership and social change. I particularly enjoyed reading about the 5 key areas to show leadership through storytelling, getting people to connect and care about a cause is the best way to convey a message.
#OUB329#Wk16- This week was about activist leadership. I found Mouffe’s thoughts around how discomfort is something that should be confronted rather than avoided. This applies to leadership as if differences are ignored it festers and causes bigger problems down the line.
#OUB329#Wk15- This week was about resistance leadership. The cyclical nature of resistance leadership was very interesting. How power stimulating resistance and resistance stimulating power can lead to a positive outcome. A great thought for my group’s leadership challenge.
#OUB329#Wk14- This week introduces themes such as tame, wicked and critical in terms of leadership challenges. It was interesting learning about these and thinking how some can apply to my work life and how some can be used on a wider political level.
#OUB329#Wk12- This week was about leadership as a positive sum game, learning about positive, negative and zero-sum games. The most interesting part for me was competing aims and that in order to be more likely to achieve a win win outcome, compromises will have to be made.
#OUB329#Wk11- This week was about conflict, the key learning was that not all conflict is bad, in fact it can be helpful to hear different perspectives. The most interesting part for me this week was leadership without authority and how leadership can also come from the bottom
#OUB329#Wk10- This week was about mobilising followers. Leadership through relationships was the most interesting part as it reminded me about the interdependencies we all have despite position. As well as how these relationships can be used to motivate and mobilise people.
#OUB329#Wk9- This week was all about collaborative leadership. I found Huxham and Vangen’s two types of leadership very insightful. This week gave me an opportunity to reflect on my leadership and areas I could be more open and receptive to ideas and mindful of my body language.
#OUB329#Wk8- This week was all about diversity, inclusion and boundaryless leadership. I enjoyed learning about my own leadership style and how it can be improved to suit everyone at work. As well as non-observable difference, an area I never thought about as much until now.
#OUB329#Wk7- This week was all about the differences between administrators, managers and leaders and reflecting on my own leadership. I found the concept of having multiple identities and applying them to different situations and managing impressions the most interesting.
#OUB329#Wk5- This week was all about TMA01, I found the guidance extremely useful regarding writing and structuring an interview and blog. I also conducted my interview. I had some set topics I wanted to cover but went with an unstructured approach and used follow up questions.
#OUB329#Wk4-Having lived in 3 different countries I was looking forward to this week. Understanding different cultures is key in a global world. Thinking critically about the potential negatives of the GLOBE clusters assumptions is a way in which I can act on this section.
