@OneQnShootout @philipaston44 Based on the production code of this year's Soccer Aid special, I think they have filmed 2,679 daytime episodes in total, so The Chase may currently be Britain's longest-running general knowledge television quiz show in terms of episodes filmed!

@jamesstca Thanks for this update James! It seems there can’t be all that many S16 chaser losses still to air, especially if S17 eps will start to be shown from next week. Presumably Matt and Mara filmed later in S16 and that would explain their lack of generous Firepower offers.

@jamesstca At the current rate, Series 19 might not finish airing until early 2028! So it makes sense not to film any more episodes this year when the backlog is so huge...

@jamesstca I agree that two new episodes a week is disappointing and insulting to loyal viewers 😢 still, I think it might arguably be a better approach than ITV’s, which is to air new episodes from late August to mid-March, and then show repeats for over 5 months!
