7th project meeting!
Antonio Lopez-Francos from @CIHEAMZaragoza 🇪🇸presententing the dissemnation activities, including two training courses on conservation agricultura, field days and workshops with farmers, and more than 15 scientific publications and more that will come!
7th project meeting!
Results from INRA 🇹🇳 presented by Mohamed Annabi show that, in semi-arid areas, cereal and legume rotation produces better yields and uses water more efficiently than deep tillage monoculture.
7th project meeting!
Dr. Mourad Latati from ENSA 🇩🇿 presented the results of rotation and intercropping (durum wheat, chickpea and pea) versus monocropping... which show higher water and nitrogen use efficiency when crops are mixed.
7th project meeting!
Mathieu Margerie from @Arvalisofficiel 🇫🇷 explaining @cama_med results on the adjustment of decision support tools to estimate crop biomass and yield in #ConservationAgriculture, and also to quantify and overcome limiting factors
7th project meeting!
Thomas Gitsopoulos, HAO Demeter 🇬🇷 presents his work on the comparison of the effects of no-tillage and minimum tillage on water use efficiency in a rotation with millet, lathyrus, sorghum and barley in 🇬🇷
7th project meeting!
Sourour Abidi of INRAT 🇹🇳 is working on the application of #ConservationAgriculture in mixed systems where livestock graze stubble. Animals compact the soil and eat the residues ➡️trade-off between grazing and no-tillage.
7th project meeting!
Modeling is important for simulating scenarios and suporting decissions. @cama_med project has adjusted a simulation model to estimate soil organic carbon in #ConservationAgriculture in Mediterranean conditions
7th project meeting!
In Monegros semiarid zone if Spain Carlos Cantero from @ETSEAFIV_UdL reports better yields when using no tillage compared to chisel tillage. As for nitrogen fertilisation, organic fertilisation (pig slurry) gave better yields than mineral fertilisation.
