“It’s a soft target, isn’t it? If you close libraries, nobody dies – that’s what they think. But what’s happening is it’s society who suffers and people who suffer.” Says Michael Rosen https://t.co/RyNOCEMXkV
🧠 The latest in our series of reflections from our recent event, An Invitation to Think, comes from our partners at @CambridgeCandI who led the creative workshop, 'A Call for Being Together Differently'.

We’re off. Join us at the Out of the Ordinary Festival. In the Guildhall sheltering from rain but surrounded by the forest and sounds and smells of nature. Thanks to @Kings_College for their meadow bale. With artists @HilCoxCondron and Caroline Wendling.
@kat_brereton@frankcottrell_b 👍We were chatting with Fenland libraries about this as part of planning Imaginariums and encouraging collective re-imagining. @RobGMacfarlane and @JackieMorrisArt joked book could double as coffee table (all campers need these).
Just completed 1st phase of Rain Gardens along the Royal Docks Corridor. Approx 4 miles of SuDS in both directions from Canning Town to Pontoon Dock. Providing greenery 🌱🐝& reducing rainwater flooding...

Exquisite work created with families this morning as part of @camcitco family lunch programme. So many artists of all ages working companionably with beautiful inks made by @HilCoxCondron exploring how willows regenerate 💕. Plus we shared delicious lunch with @FoodCambridge
I’m doing jury service & today I became the first person ever in England (I think!) to swear a legal oath on a river. With my fingers dipped in water taken from the Roding I stated my juror’s oath as follows:
“I swear by the River Roding, from her source in Molehill Green to her confluence with the Thames, that I will faithfully try the Defendant & give a true verdict according to the evidence”
The Judge at Snaresbrook Crown Court had never heard of a situation where someone wanted to swear their juror’s oath on a part of Nature before. However, I explained that Nature was my god & I treat the Roding with the same reverence, sacredness & love in action as many religious people give to their holy book. On this basis he was prepared to allow an oath on the river, as long as I gave an affirmation as well, which I did.
Here’s to introducing the sacredness of Nature back into our legal system, step by step & piece by piece!
"Involving people with diverse experiences, identities and backgrounds in the design of any service is key to making sure that it’s equally accessible to a wider range of potential service users."

'Schools have been identified as key institutional community assets and arts-in-nature practice has been shown to promote children’s mental health.' Here how our ‘Artscaping’ practice could be scaled up https://t.co/KCNueJKMep
It can be done! When people say it’s just not practically feasible for a river flowing through a major capital city to be clean enough to swim in, we can now point to Paris to say it’s possible. The reason we can’t have such nice things is private greed & political incompetence.
Today's decision emanating from Southwark Crown Court is an outrage . It is an attack on our civil liberties , we must defend our right to peaceful protest .
@AttorneyGeneral , please meet with us urgently . This grotesque miscarriage of justice must be fixed .
