@0xZakk Yeah I am a bit confused. I keep my knowledge in Notion. It catalogs and makes things easily filtered so that an agent can be routed to my thoughts better.
I fear that people might be getting sick of hearing my views on the world.
So this time, an open thread for econ faculty to grade this submission on the meaning of a trade deficit.
@mattshumer_ In a sense I think this may slow down development. Focusing on alignment would completely adjust how we engage with AI. We are pushing the bar, but not with an eye on how to keep everyone up to speed and we are moving crazy fast.
@uyintans@natebjones This makes sense to me, though I do feel like new LLM models do not present the same kinds of legal and security issues. This is new ground so I feel like it should be handled differently.
@0x9T9@daniel_collin@mattpocockuk You need to break that down into smaller pieces. Take a look at /wayfinder from @mattpocockuk. It is meant to help with larger tasks like this. Focus is extremely important.
@somepythonista@mattpocockuk One of the things I added to my documentation for the skill is to add a section that kept state of where I am in my lesson. This way I didn’t have to worry much about starting new conversations.
US midterm politics and Silicon Valley’s AI messaging are on a collision course.
Public sentiment toward AI is abysmal, partly because the Valley does not know how to speak to the public.
You cannot repeatedly warn of extinction and economy-ending job losses, then act surprised when voters recoil.
Some argue the backlash was inevitable. I disagree. I’ve seen public opinion shaped in multiple countries, and explaining AI’s benefits makes a real difference.
This is also bigger than any one company. The public is correctly hearing what the Valley has been saying overall.
If the AI industry wants public support, we are gonna have to earn it by making a far better case for how AI will improve people’s lives. It's not pie in the sky—it really matters.
@p_millerd lol I feel like if the language around git repos were updated for the common core of people that would help. Also just to show people that the barrier to entry is shifting.
@xonecas@mattpocockuk One of the things I am loving about communicating with AI is that it is a constant reminder why human communication is so complex.
@Dawn23871512983@mattpocockuk Definitely agree, communication requires context and how one person communicates their intelligence is not always how another person does so. @mattpocockuk, I am curious if a piece of this skill would be having it look to understand its audience.
@p_millerd I don’t agree with Scott on everything, but he is not afraid to be wrong, owns when he clearly is, and doesn’t talk like his way is the only way. One of the main points in his book on money is that everyone’s number is different for living with happiness.
@getnickwright any reason the NBA couldn’t consider about a month long absence (more obviously an injury) as less games to help “reduce” impact for the sake of NBA rewards?
