SCHATTIG?!🙄
@BadAncient Music. From sleeping lullabies to epics to working songs. Music has connected, motivated, and soothed humans since time in memoriam. More people enjoy/connect/learn with music, as opposed to tragedy, I'd wager. And it's not reserves for one type of person only
I do volunteerwork at a high school and yesterday, because of the heat, we were eating an ice-cream during lunchtime. A student saw and wished us 'good luck.'
What does this mean? What does he know that we don't?
@AnnaConser Memrise has a few Greek and Latin vocab lists on their website/app. Even specific to certain texts - I remember revising for 'Dinner at Trimalchio's' and 'The Frogs' with this program. Memrise is free for the most part and kind of like DuoLingo
@mythsbaby@CSMFHT the passage) and he was a bit of a crook. Just wanted to get rich. So he sold this information to Xerxes for a lot of money. Very upsetting this got turned into disabled=ugly=evil. Holy fascism, Batman.
@mythsbaby@CSMFHT Also, the traitor Ephialtes was not disabled or disfigured in Herodotus's version of events. He also wasn't Spartan who was rejected from the army and that's what drove him to betray the Greeks. Ephialtes was a Greek (from the area around Thermopylae, which is why he knew 1/2
PS: witchcraft is not just Wicca, by the way. There is a rich history of witchcraft in any region and any time period, any culture. Even today there are several separate witchcraft movements that go by different names. Again, it's the options!
Why aren't we all witches?
From what I have learned about witchcraft it is super flexible and accessible.
It's the basis of medicine (curing diseases with herbs/spices), self-enrichment (understanding your own needs and feelings), and philanthropy (helping others).
As human civilisations advance and change, witchcraft has always found a place within it. It might be given a new name, but the sense of it remains.
SO WHY AREN'T WE ALL WITCHES?!
