@Mikulodian @lymanstoneky I disagree for a different reason than most. Land rightfully belongs to everyone, but it's useful to live in a society where individuals can own land.

This contradiction is solved with property taxes. Some portion of the tax is the rent you pay to society for that land.

I don't even think this paper shows T makes you care less about rewards given to charity. The people given T are as good at getting selfish and selfless rewards. It only seems to stop them from getting better when watched

@jess_ann_pin Overall, I'm very happy that they did this research because it's really important, but I think the risk of trolling + the lack of generalizability limits the conclusions we can make about men in general

@jess_ann_pin @orlandojhines @kai_xbt Incidentally, this is the same problem we see today with attitudes towards women's promiscuity. It makes no sense to have a society where most people are straight, men are promiscuous, and women aren't. The math just doesn't work out.

My guess, though, is that women and men had about the same level of promiscuity, because otherwise the math doesn't work out

Fermi estimates are just educated guesses, and you can't expect them to be accurate to better than an order of magnitude. I also think you're overestimating the cost of individual cells.
