@bcherny Enjoy what Boris? I am not even allowed to use Fable 5 with memories on! Apparently the model thinks I am a biosecurity risk, though I had been certified to work in biosecurity level 3 labs! Not a single Anthropic person has tried to reach out to help either!
@Mikulodian@lymanstoneky I disagree for a different reason than most. Land rightfully belongs to everyone, but it's useful to live in a society where individuals can own land.
This contradiction is solved with property taxes. Some portion of the tax is the rent you pay to society for that land.
@jess_ann_pin This is a really interesting paper. Thanks for sharing!
I don't even think this paper shows T makes you care less about rewards given to charity. The people given T are as good at getting selfish and selfless rewards. It only seems to stop them from getting better when watched
@jess_ann_pin You may find this useful :)

I've never used OpenBCI personally, but it does look like their setup can be used for EMG
@jess_ann_pin Overall, I'm very happy that they did this research because it's really important, but I think the risk of trolling + the lack of generalizability limits the conclusions we can make about men in general
@jess_ann_pin Third, the fact that it's a paid site is concerning because people may just be clicking through the survey to get the money instead of actually answering the questions. They address this to some degree, but it's still a concern IMO
@jess_ann_pin@orlandojhines@kai_xbt Incidentally, this is the same problem we see today with attitudes towards women's promiscuity. It makes no sense to have a society where most people are straight, men are promiscuous, and women aren't. The math just doesn't work out.
@jess_ann_pin@orlandojhines@kai_xbt That being said, partner numbers should be equal on average, because it just doesn't make mathematical sense for all women to have many partners but all men to only have one partner (or vice versa) unless everyone's bisexual
@jess_ann_pin@orlandojhines@kai_xbt I literally have no idea. I don't think anyone does. We know next to nothing about that time in our history because none of it was written down.
My guess, though, is that women and men had about the same level of promiscuity, because otherwise the math doesn't work out
@jess_ann_pin@orlandojhines@kai_xbt I've seen you mention this a couple of times. I'd like to push back on the "fermi approach". Fermi estimates are just educated guesses, and you can't expect them to be accurate to better than an order of magnitude. I also think you're overestimating the cost of individual cells.
@Noahpinion@jonatanpallesen Youโve been complaining about MAID for the past several days. Either both of you have the right to express your opinions, or neither of you do
