@tuuu28283 I started learning Russian a few years ago but ran out of classes at the local college. I was always so embarrassed by how bad I was. I follow you bc I respect your dedication to learning English so much! It’s inspired me to start working on my own language goals again :)
Its a great question and one with a relatively straightforward answer:
Why IS the large amount of energy spent brute forcing weird language changes entirely directed toward changing the language used to describe women - "pregnant people", "uterus havers", "menstrators", "ppl with vaginas" - but absolutely none designed to change language used for men? Where is the energy devoted to changing "men" into ejaculators, penis people, or testicle havers?
The reason is simple: its a movement entirely devoted to advancing tbe interests of fetishistic men, period. Nobody in this movement - including the trans themselves - gives the slightest shit about the trans identified females. They are the movements Useful Idiots, their existence is entirely devoted to one role: to validate the mens claims that they are "real women" by making it appear to be a universal phenomenon instead of a male-specific fetish.
This is why the women are more or less required to take the testosterone, to gave their breasts removed and (sometimes) to get the fake flesh roll penis in order to be considered a "real man" in the trans community, but a man is not required to take drugs or surgeries to be validated, he is a woman at the very second he declares he is. The women need to pay the cost in blood and flesh in order to be validated, the men simply need to recite the magic words.
In pop culture terms, this is why Ellen Page needed to cut her breasts off and take deformity-inducing levels of tesosterone to "be a man", but Bruce Jenner gets to keep his cock, throw on a dress, and @VanityFair declares him Woman Of The Year.
The hilarious irony of all the libfems supporting this nonsense is how they see "The Patriarchy" is so many situations in life where it doesnt really exist, and yet when the purest, most male-centred version of Patriarchial control appears, they support it with the vigor and intensity that their suffragette foremothers fought for the right to vote
@manatee_miss@WindowsKevin@LeadingReport do you understand how much you’re revealing about yourself with this question or are you so braindead you think it was some kind of winning blow
Post on here just reminded me of this guy I was “dating” online when I was 14, he was 24. I thought I was going to move to England and marry this guy. So I decided to see what he’s up to, and anyways he’s now in prison for crimes against children
There’s something happening inside of me that I haven’t felt in a while. Pride.
There are so many things I’d like to see changed in our country but for a brief moment I’m just in awe of foreigners exploring and discovering some American gems during their visit for World Cup. These posts are a beacon of light for me.
Distinctly it warms my heart to see people enjoying Texas Roadhouse or Biscuits & gravy. Or, the Japanese poet that is writing masterpieces about unlimited chips & salsa. Or, the Germans getting into Ella Langley. Even the compliments on our stadium here in LA.
I can’t speak on everyone’s behalf but I welcome you all into our flawed yet beautiful country. Despite the narratives and what some folks post about on here I promise that a majority of your experiences and interactions will be met with kindness and hospitality. I hope you’ll notice our citizens trying to relate to you and understand you.
USA. A breakfast counter. The waitress recommended the biscuits and gravy, and when the plate arrived, I thought something had gone wrong in the kitchen.
I say this with shame. The dish looked like a construction site after rain. Pale mounds. Gray ladle-fall. Speckles I could not identify.
In my land, the eye eats first. A meal is arranged like a garden. This meal was arranged like weather.
"Is it… finished?" I asked, carefully.
"Honey, that's what it looks like."
The man beside me was already eating his. He did not look up. "Just try it."
I am a man who has charged hillsides at dawn. I raised the fork. I tried it.
I must now formally apologize to the biscuits, the gravy, the waitress, the kitchen, and the entire breakfast tradition of the American South.
It was magnificent. Warm. Peppered. The biscuit drank the gravy the way a field drinks rain — THAT is why it is shaped like that, you fool — and every mound I had insulted was a soft fold of comfort that my homeland, in eight hundred years, never once thought to invent.
"Well?" the waitress asked.
"I judged it," I confessed. "By its appearance. I am ashamed."
"Everybody does, hon."
Everybody does. A national dish that forgives you for doubting it. It expects the doubt. It waits for you on the other side of it.
Do not judge the gravy by its face. Judge yourself, for hesitating.
I order it every Saturday now. I no longer see the construction site. I see only the garden.
It was a garden the whole time. The eye must be trained.
I generally can’t stand celebrities but every story I hear about this woman is just delightful. She’s just so thoroughly & unapologetically an out of touch nepo celeb, yet never seems malicious. Be your bizarre self, girl. Hell yeah.
Quick random Gwyneth Paltrow story. She has sent the same bouquet of condolence flowers every year to a friend of mine because of her father’s death. Her father isn’t dead. She’s been told this at least 6 times, but every April the flowers come, on her birthday. She has confused her birthday with her father’s supposed death & has done this for 20 years. And she’s met her father. Twice.
The people who wrote these articles took a 12 year old girl so scared of her normal walk from school that she had to be armed with blades and, instead of being horrified she felt that way, paraded her in front of the world as a low class racist monster.
we live in age of great moral panics about things that don’t matter and zero moral outrage over some of the most egregious societal sins we’ve ever seen
Last night, I made a simple request on X. I asked if anybody visiting Arlington National Cemetery for Memorial Day would stop by Alan’s grave and leave a photo for our family.
What happened next honestly caught me off guard.
By this afternoon, dozens of Americans from all walks of life had made the walk to Section 60 to visit SSG Alan W. Shaw. Veterans. Families. Complete strangers. People who had never met Alan, but chose to honor him anyway.
For one day on social media, people put aside the constant noise and negativity and came together for something bigger than themselves. My notifications filled with photos, kind messages, prayers, and stories from people honoring not just Alan, but so many of our fallen heroes.
I don’t think people fully understand what moments like this mean to Gold Star families. The fear is never just losing them. It’s losing them slowly over time as the world moves on and fewer people remember their name.
But today showed me that Alan will never be forgotten.
After years of watching social media reward some of the worst parts of humanity, today gave me a reminder that the good is still out there too.
Thank you to every single person who stopped by to visit Alan today, said his name, shared his story, or took a moment to honor the fallen.
This right here is the America Alan knew and loved enough to fight and die for.
And today, y’all showed us all that it’s still here and it’s still worth fighting for. 🇺🇸
“Oh so you can gerrymander by following your state’s laws, but Democrats can’t gerrymander by violating their state’s laws?”
Yeah man. That’s how that works.
