@01000011S@WayneGlossop2 Thanks mate, stunning looking bird! Got back there Sunday to be told ‘it flew off five minutes ago, but don’t worry it does a circuit’ and I just thought fuck off, I was told that last night 😂
@WayneGlossop2@01000011S Third time lucky for me, missed by a few mins Saturday, spent all morning there Sunday in my not so appropriate shorts. Then it was seen again when I was already headed south. Managed to get back and finally got it, thank god😂😂
@GarryBagnell@gibbard_crisis When they are going, brilliant, when they don’t run right, nightmare. Everything is very electronically based, lots of sensors, and codes generated are fairly generic. So even if you get a fault code, it could be half a dozen things, which doesn’t help when you’re in a hurry…
@GarryBagnell@gibbard_crisis Haha! My Audi is reliable, as in it keeps driving, but it constantly needs work doing on it. Since the beginning of the year -
Throttle body
Rear windscreen wiper motor
Clutch and dual mass flywheel ( £2k alone)
Rear caliper
Rear pads and discs
Needs new front pads and discs…
@gibbard_crisis@GarryBagnell Diesel Audis are a nightmare, due to DPF problems… can’t legally remove the DPF, and the ‘driveway’ cleaning of it is a con, has to come off the vehicle at £1500 a go roughly if it’s a Quattro, and it’s a few £k to replace for a new one.
@Birdingbewl Where abouts were you viewing from buddy? GN Diver still present, but no sign of a skua. From the boat club or the car park. Can’t find the pontoon/buoys that were in the back of your images. Thanks
@GarryBagnell Looks minor from those photos… have done worse to hire cars here when in a hurry to abandon it and get to a bird… without any repercussions… maybe just taking advantage of the fact you were leaving the country, and less likely to argue the damages.
@GarryBagnell Sounds like they are just taking advantage of the contract then, although I personally would argue it, especially in regards to the tire. Do they have photo evidence of the vehicle before you had it?
@GarryBagnell Side walls can’t be repaired, but I would take a guess at saying they would just pull the bit of rubber off, as long as the chords of the tyre aren’t showing
@GarryBagnell I’m not sure it quite works like that, but I would be questioning the cost of the tyre. Especially as rim repair is apparently cheaper than a tyre…
