@sarah_edo Where I work, we've had a number of engineers start in a customer support role at the company. When an engineer position opened, they applied and were interviewed like any other candidate. They've brought a lot of ideas and context with them that a typical hire would not.

@ChrisAlvino I asked my optometrist, who was also a close friend's mom, her thoughts on me getting it, "Stick to contacts. I prefer having an extra layer to your eye than removing one." From that plus the big problems some folks have had, I'll be on the daily contacts indefinitely.

@jmduke Do you consider totally rebuilding the application with feature parity, in a new tech stack, a whole code base rewrite?
We did this at my last company. It worked out fairly well. There were challenges, but certainly paid off in the long run.
