Although not confirmed, Gleb Pugachyov's camp feels optimistic that he could attend Canadiens Dev Camp next week.
Visa issues and timing remain the biggest obstacles.
Just spoke with Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes for @Sportsnet. He said only Martin Lapointe was happier than Nick Bobrov they got Gleb Pugachyov, a player who brings hockey sense and nastiness to the ice. Hughes said the belief is he's not far off from being NHL-ready.
Nick Kypreos: Re Canadiens: They're gonna go out and they're gonna get a top six forward, if not two, and they've got the assets to do it; they wanna be aggressive here - Sportsnet Central (5/25)
Brendan Gallagher in a recent interview with the Athletic’s Arpon Basu:
“About halfway through the season, I kind of figured it out. I could kind of sense the direction (the Habs) were looking to go. And it was OK. At that point, I had had conversations with them and they were super open with me, and I’ll always be appreciative of their honesty, and it’s OK with me as well.”
Last year, Habs traded 16, 17 and Emil Heineman for 25-year-old Noah Dobson—a big, right-handed dman who had already had a 70-pt season.
The Hawks just moved 4th overall, 45 overall and Louis Crevier (6-foot-8 RHD who had 25 points this past season) for 25-year-old Bowen Byram (who had a career high 42 pts this past season) and Jordan Greenaway.
Wonder what that contract is going to look like (Byram’s current deal expires next summer, so can be negotiated come July 1.)
“Why do you get so emotional talking about Carey?”
Simple: because for many of us, he was one of the few players who made every game exciting. Someone who got you out of your seat night after night. No matter who was in front of him, you always felt like we had a chance to win.
He was the Montreal Canadiens for years, and he never wanted to leave.
He’ll always be my GOAT.
Congrats, @CP0031. 🫶🏻🐐
Congratulations to the two Canadians in the Class of 2026 for the @HockeyHallFame—Patrice Bergeron and Carey Price! 🇨🇦
Félicitations aux deux Canadiens qui font partie de la cuvée 2026 du Temple de la renommée du hockey, Patrice Bergeron et Carey Price! 🇨🇦
#Habs Carey Price says he was in the car driving when he got the call from the Hockey Hall of Fame: "I was cruising by an old fishing hole in Monte Lake, British Columbia and I saw it on the display... hockey hall of fame and I couldn't wait to answer that one"
Félicitations à Carey Price pour avoir été élu au Temple de la renommée du hockey! 👏
Congratulations to @CP0031 on being elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame!
