To help pass the time yesterday I went for a long walk, played soccer, and rode my skateboard. I really enjoyed being fully present for all of these activities and not having my phone to pull me away from living in the moment. #eme4390s21

Where we find troubles and conflict is “common identity politics”. People are uniting against a specific group which is a very dangerous thing to do. There are two ways to go about protesting issues and one seems to have a safer outcome than the other. #eme4390s21

Jonathan Haidt’s video offered a lot of good insight about identity politics. He says how MLK presented a case that individuals were not given equal access. This strategy has worked historically and could work today on college campuses. #eme4390s21

I was not aware of how prevalent Facebook ads were in the 2016 election. Facebook was a secret weapon here that was used as a great advantage. Focusing advertisements where voter behavior could be shifted was a point of focus. #eme4390s21

They even have a new “digital wailing wall” where people can go online and put a prayer request out and students in Jerusalem will go and put it out on the prayer wall. How neat is that! #eme4390s21

Interesting find, New Zealand is bringing people towards consensus with technology. Loomio, a mobile application created by social entrepreneurs helps share ideas and courses of action to then have the community decide on a proposal together. #eme4390s21
