Snow joke. A cargo bike delivered your food this week and it made your day! <if this doesn’t apply to you, it can, just book is (or your nearest service)> @dayzeroshop@coop_macc@OrganicNorth (and lots more)
Attended the opening of @LNER Family Lounge at York Station today by @DavidHorne & the Rt Hon Lord Mayor of York. The team have done a great job & we supported them with a grant. The mirror in the corner was found under panelling & has been restored in the vibrant new space.

A thread to celebrate the 128 anniversary of the 3rd oldest underground railway in the world which now has futuristic trains travelling along the tracks.
I'll add to this over time
WEST STREET
Trains coming & going from the my favourite platform
@CarolineB07814@BELFASTCITY_AIR I looked at the train as an option last few times I was over. Route to the station looked unpleasant, so used the airport bus to/from the city centre instead. To be fair it was a pretty good service.
Rather a sad moment - today the Dutch government introduces border controls at the frontiers with Belgium & Germany. They don’t have the resources to do very many checks, but it still feels like a big step backwards. Our children will not enjoy the freedoms we did.
@laura_laker @RuthMayorcas@BBCRadio2 I know BBC say they avoid “language of reports” e.g. collision/incident, but they already occasionally use “police incident” (maybe when it’s something other than a collision).
Also, “crash” IS commonly understood - even by children. Perhaps BBC consider it too graphic?
@GarethDennis@luxmy_g He regretted the sentence in the letter which “apparently” threatened the contractor. This doesn’t sound much like an apology or even acceptance of the implications of what he wrote to me.
I asked Rail Minister, Lord Hendy, if he regretted his actions, after claims that he threatened a firm when its engineer voiced safety concerns in 2023 about Euston station.

With the HS2 boring machines set to start the tunnelling work to Euston, it was great to join @CamdenCouncil & local stakeholders to workshop long term ambitions for transforming Euston Road and the wider area.
@Bamfordthefirst@Auntiekay28 Some parts are already in progress in Buxton. A track from Green Ln south across Temple Fields has just been surfaced. The one way Crescent has had approval to be contraflow for cycles. There’s already a toucan crossing in place on a new roundabout at Fairfield on the A6.
Thank you, @LouHaigh, for your support for all things active travel. Your commitment has been deeply appreciated. Wishing you all the best in the next chapter after stepping down - your impact will not be forgotten #ActiveTravel
Ayayayyy what a week for EVs
News of the Stellantis Luton factory closure has been conflated with the ZEV mandate failing, but it's pretty clear to anyone paying attention that the two things are not really related...
2 big things to note on this:
Ten landowners - just ten! - own one sixth of Dorset. They include Jonathan Harmsworth... whose family own the Daily Mail. Are alarm bells beginning to ring over the way this debate's being framed? /14
