@Reil76 I get that government wants to step in because it’s a HUGE problem. I taught 20+ years ago & half my class had perfect attendance. We made a big deal & rewarded them. Sadly kids aren’t motivated by that anymore. Our school has a fun day at the lake & just over a 1/3 showed up
@Reil76 Lates are an issue too. They can have 50 plus lates. In some cases it’s the same kids who get dropped off by their parents late every single day.
@Reil76 Back to my original point is some parents are overruled and don’t make their kids go. Problem is after weeks at home they now are anxious and start developing mental health issues which is scary so parents back right off and it gets worse.
@Reil76 I just read more about it. It’s the minister spouting this stuff. I bet teachers will be livid. My husband is a principal, and I taught. Both PE and coaches. We both feel kids learn more on extracurricular and sports tournaments than some days sitting in class.
@r3tarddownunder I’m Canadian and not familiar with your constitution. Are you a multicultural nation as we are? I know it’s written in our constitution. Versus US which is considered a melting pot.
@PumlaMajali@thedailybeast They quit their jobs at the family business. Most people don’t keep their benefits, salary and perks when they quit their jobs.
@o_pound@thebestJoeSmith I never thought I would see a Canada in the World Cup as a kid. It’s only our 3rd and until this one we have never even got a point for a tie. So as a Canadian it feels like a huge accomplishment. But I guess like your president you like to shit on Canada. Good luck to the US.
