We can announce that Gerhard Struber has been relieved of his duties as Bristol City Head Coach.
Roy Hodgson will take charge of the Men’s First Team until the end of the season, while the club will task the incoming Sporting Director with appointing a permanent Head Coach for the 2026/27 campaign.
The club’s recent performances have not met expectations and therefore Struber and Assistant Head Coach Bernd Eibler will leave with immediate effect.

It was another fantastic weekend of football with plenty of goals across the league!
Olveston claimed derby day delight as they completed the double in “The Battle of the Hill”, edging a tight and scrappy contest that saw them go 1-0 down, lead 2-1, get pulled back to 2-2, before a last-kick free-kick winner which sealed the points in dramatic fashion. Greyfriars and Longwell Green Res played out an entertaining 3-3 draw, both picking up valuable points. DRG Frenchay produced a dominant display with a 6-0 win over Shaftesbury, while Shirehampton Res secured a narrow 3-2 victory over Patchway Town to give themselves some breathing space. Winterbourne continued their good form with a 5-0 win over Nicholas Wanderers at the Rec. Hallen Res remain top after a hard fought win against Bristol Barcelona despite strong second-half pressure from Barcelona
In Division One, Old Sodbury strengthened their position at the top with a convincing 4-0 win over Hambrook, while Bedminster Down came out on top in a nine-goal thriller, beating AFC Mangotsfield 5-4 at Oasis Academy. AEK kept the pressure on in the promotion race with an emphatic 6-1 win over Lion, who remain in the relegation mix, and Cribbs A vs Chipping Sodbury Res was postponed.

The sun finally showed up this afternoon and delivered perfect football conditions, and Iron Acton took full advantage, blowing off steam from their semi‑final heartbreak with a ruthless 7-0 win over Shaftesbury Crusade. Olveston at last got their home tie played against Nic Wands and came away 3-1 winners, while Hallen made sure they stayed on top of the chase with a 3-1 victory over Longwell Res after their last meeting ended level. Thornbury Town claimed North Bristol bragging rights over Greyfriars, and Winterbourne fresh off last week’s win were brought back down to earth as Bristol Barcelona hit them for four. Division One saw only two games played, with a strong crowd watching Oldland vs Old Sodbury, an early strike set Old Sodbury on their way as they controlled the game and moved three points clear at the top despite a better second half from Oldland. The Chipping Sodbury vs AFC Mangotsfield match was abandoned after a serious injury to a Sodbury player, with AFC Mangotsfield and the league sending their best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

What an afternoon of football in the UBPC! Bedminster Down progress to the Cup Final with an impressive 4–0 win over Premier Division promotion contenders Iron Acton and will face Bristol Barcelona, who booked their place with a 3-0 victory over Shirehampton Res. There were plenty of twists in the league too, as Olveston held league leaders Hallen Res to a draw, while Winterbourne United beat DRG Frenchay to halt their title charge, leaving DRG four points behind Hallen. Thornbury also climbed the table with a convincing 5-1 win over Longwell Green Reserves. In Division One, AFC Mangotsfield were comfortable winners away at Hambrook, while Pucklechurch Sports were defeated by Old Sodbury. Old Sodbury now top of the table, level on points at the top with AEK Boco Res. Oldland edged a tight 3–2 win over Cribbs, who were unlucky not to come away with something from the game. Commiserations to Iron Acton and Shirehampton A after strong cup runs, and congratulations to Bedminster Down and Bristol Barcelona who will meet in the UBPC Cup Final at Cossham Street on Wednesday 1st April, 7:45pm kick-off. ⚽🏆
