@JonErlichman Another way to look at this. What today you pay a dollar for you could pay $.04 for in 1933. Reason was the Fed cut the money supply by 1/3 in 1931 causing massive deflation across all assets, goods, and services. With money so dear, even a few cents was really worth something.
