I came from a working-class family. My parents took out Plus Loans & desperate to make something of myself I took out 10s of 1000s in student loans. After repaying many multiples of my original debt, at 45 I finally paid them off. I’d wish that on no one coming behind me.

@annehelen I went to work with grandpa! He was a local carpenter that often did a lot of work at churches. I remember running around the pews and snooping through closets to entertain myself. This was probably age 5-9 until my sister was old enough to stay home alone.
