Interested in ways new approaches, crops & agtech can help food & farming. Nuffield Scholar studying #hemp. Head of Product @fieldmargin. Family farm in Kent.
Thanks @FarmersWeekly for the feature and @OurCowMolly we're really glad the app is proving so useful for you for tracking fieldwork
“It means there is no wasted time or possible errors in explaining which fields need what fertiliser,”

🙌NEW RELEASE: Nutrient Management 🙌
Now you can set the nutrient content of your fertilizers This will allow you to:
✅Record the quantities of nutrients applied
✅Calculate the quantity of fertilizer required from the amount of nutrient needed

Still processing a fantastic 2 days @Groundswellaguk last week. Inspiring seeing the way the regen ag community has developed and chatting with so many farmers using fieldmargin for #mobgrazing, #agroforestry, #biodiversity and more!
Is desertification happening in this country too? In our “green and pleasant land”, farmland left untouched for 8 months should, by now, be a riot of weeds and green growth. Instead, we have this.
Have we killed our soils?
@whamsfarm Obviously not an ideal solution for your return from the crop but any potential to connect with a gleaning group or similar? At least could avoid it going it waste... https://t.co/GLRefCmNip
Interesting story. Hadn't seen anything about this policy previously but shows how, while lots of us want to reduce inorganic fert use, a flat out ban without transition planning and changes to farm practice can be harmful. https://t.co/U8HGY89H2F
A step in the right direction I hope. At the moment there are only 100 medical cannabis prescriptions issued per month in the UK. Only for 3 specified medicines and issued by specialist doctors, not GPs. #medicalcannabis https://t.co/xNbyOia07R
Finally off on the first 'big trip' of my @NuffieldFarming scholarship. Headed to Colorado, USA for @NoCoHempExpo and then will be travelling around to visit #hemp growers and processors. #coloradohemp
"For the majority of greenhouse crops, the net photosynthesis increases following the increase of CO2 level in the air....The estimated annual potential for CO2 utilization in greenhouses is approximately 22.0 MtCO2."

Disappointing but not surprising https://t.co/bLZ3vfS1ev. Interesting that one of the technologies highlighted as promising is increasing CO2 levels in agricultural greenhouses - would love to know more about how this works!
@willwilson100 Not sure if this counts as 'escapism' since a lot of it makes for quite tough reading but a really well written and engaging tale https://t.co/KblPUeXATf
Really interesting research by @marwammmahmoud on how machine learning is being used to recognise animal facial expressions and detect signs of pain/discomfort that could indicate illness before we humans would be able to. #REAP21
