149 middle schoolers, 24 small group leaders, 9 high school work crew students, 8 planning team adults, a 3 person band, & 1 speaker are spending their weekend here.

Pray with me that this weekend would be the weekend when many would follow Jesus & take their place in his story.

Last night while I was on my run I came across a 🐍 chillin' in the road. I did a little heebie jeebies dance and decided the road wasn't big enough for me to pass so I back tracked my steps to get around it.

So, let’s have some fun this week. I’ll post a picture of each kitchen name & share where & what we really find these women doing in scripture. And most importantly, how God calls them to himself & prepares good works for them to walk into as they join him in his kingdom work.

I’m at the Laguna Beach Christian Retreat Center with an incredible group of students for RYM Camp.

This is my 3rd year & one thing that irks me is this: every room is named after a person or book of the Bible & the only rooms named after women are … wait for it … kitchens.

Implying that a woman’s place is the kitchen. Or that somehow women in the kitchen is a picture of “biblical womanhood.” This couldn’t be further from the truth. Girls are a whole world more than that - God chooses them & uses them to do hard & holy things & change the world!

(3/4) There was some pleading for them to practice a little more “hidden vulnerability” and some declaring that we would “descend to the dead” before they conquered us with their bodily odors. Along with some misuse of “authority” and “vulnerability.”
