KAT Towns 3 straight conference finals, with series wins over Devin Booker/Kevin Durant, Jokic (defending champs), Cade Cunningham, Jayson Tatum/Jaylen Brown (defending champs), Joel Embiid/Tyrese Maxey
Not bad for a non-winning player
That tough guy act ain’t cutting it .... you know what you are.. you know what you’ve always been>>> A PUSSY (SAY IT LOUDER FOR PEOPLE IN THE BACK) Been kicking your ass and pretty please make the playoffs before you talk. It’s a known thing that I OWN YOU. @KarlTowns
He improved a ton. But it’s still not at the level where he can lift others in a playoff setting.
He simply has to hit shots at a high rate to provide star impact in the postseason.
The Hauser obsession has been indefensible
I thought Baylor well enough to win a real trusted playoff role and Walshs activity has won him spot minutes to this point
Also the "force feed Jaylen at the nail" offense in the 2nd quarter really felt like the defining stretch tn
It’s insane how the Celtics have spent the last decade winning due to crazy depth but the Sixers GM didn’t even see a need to have Jared McCain the bench!
Morey is stuck in this idea team building as a few stars and a bunch of interchangeable bodies. No teams wins like that in the NBA anymore.
BREAKING: The Memphis Grizzlies are trading star forward Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, Jock Landale and Vince Williams Jr. to the Utah Jazz for Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang and three future first-round picks, sources tell ESPN.
He is absolutely not worth a promising young wing on a rookie deal + Ivey (even expiring) + Harris who's overpaid but at least not albatross along with an absolute feast of picks lol
Great player but na
Steve Jones: “I wonder what the price is [for the Detroit Pistons] with how Lauri Markkanen has played to start this year.”
Zach Lowe: “He’s averaging 30 points a game. The price is going to be everything. Jaden Ivey, Ron Holland, Tobias Harris, four picks, and four swaps.”
We're playing with house money this year so I'm not in shambles
But this is semi why I was bothered by not one or two depth buys at the deadline
Especially with selling a little low on value at the deadline too
The day you get a Royals vs Marlins WS and it approaches anything close to 16M views.
I say this as a diehard bball fan who loves playoff baseball and recognizes it as the best playoffs of the 4 major sports
It appears baseball is firmly the number two sport in America. The World Series has demolished the NBA Finals over the last two years.
The pitch clock has changed everything and is bringing fans back. Conversely, I think fans are rejecting the style of play in the NBA.
But the Dodgers are EASILY the 2nd biggest villain in North American sports (Chiefs lol) atm
Like they're right above the KD Warriors stratosphere and in the LeBron Heatles level of must see villain to root against
The effect of having
- biggest TV market involved
- a death star- esque villain to craft a compelling casual narrative around
- a true underdog franchise that hasn't seen late October baseball since 1993
Really the last NBA finals we saw like this was...2018??? Maybe?
No excuses for the NBA
Silver has let Mouse Money (ABC cov) and YouTube TV corrupt how poorly the NBA season and mainly the finals has been covered
It's been a fairly ample reason why NBA ratings have slipped some from last decade and been fairly inconsistent in the parity era
