The last evening of the No Border Camp in Groningen. Tomorrow we need as many people as possible to clean up the camp so we can leave this place to nature again! Please come help at the Paddepoelsterweg 14-16. Le Sabot will provide lunch!
Today people from the No Border Camp did a solidarity activity at the azc in Drachten, with bouncy castle, fruit and toys for the children. Many people on the move in azc's have to face difficult living conditions, long waiting times and insecurity about their futures.
Friday morning we'll repeat the party at the emergency shelter in Zuidbroek (Burgemeester Omtaweg 4). There the conditions are really bad and locals are giving them shit, the location is being closed in September. We want to let the residents know they're welcome.
People from the No Border Camp are now at Ter Apel for a solidarity action with bouncy castle, toys, sweet rice cakes, bubble blowing, tea and music!
We don't think it's necessary to explain why people stuck in Ter Apel van do with some fun.
A guerrilla theater performance at festival Noorderzon confronted the festival visitors with the reality of their fellow Groningers who don't have their residency papers.
After throwing the dice that determined how long the stay in a refugee camp already had taken, the visitors were presented a card describing their current situation. Another roll of the dice made it clear for how many more months they would be stuck in this situation.
We took a few banners to support the demonstration by people on the move in Groningen this morning. They are living in horrible conditions, with too little toilet and cooking facilities. COA people are hardly available, IND procedures take long times and are very random.
Now happening: rally by people on the moving living at the location Damsterdiep 267 in Groningen against the horrible living conditions and long procedure waiting times. People from the No Border Camp are there to support the protest.
Day two is over! We brainstormed, embroidered, repaired bicycles, laughed, watched a documentary and an interview with the makers, and ate together.
Tomorrow we have a full program again. Direct practices of sabotaging deportations: an exchange of ideas starts at twelve.
