Stop idolizing politicians. Stop putting them on a pedestal. Hinalal at niluklok natin sila para tulungan tayo, hindi para lalo tayong pahirapan. Demand that they do their jobs right. While we’re suffering, they’re enjoying their million-peso salaries.
Gumising kayo.
I hope that Filipinos will realize the irony of politicians promising Singapore-like progress and not Singapore-like public accountability.
Lee Kuan Yew explicitly stated that zero-tolerance against corruption has been their backbone on good governance.
Healthcare Must Be Justice, Not Charity
President Marcos claimed in his SONA that patients no longer need guarantee letters for medical assistance. Yet, the reality tells a different story.
At the Philippine Heart Center, patients are still required to present a certificate of indigency, eligibility forms, and justification letters—layers of bureaucracy that delay care and diminish dignity.
Guarantee letters have become symbols of inequality. They force families to beg for endorsements instead of receiving help as a right.
If the President truly wants to understand the people’s suffering, he should walk the hospital corridors himself—not rely solely on filtered reports.
Universal Health Care means automatic coverage through PhilHealth, not political favors through guarantee letters.
Transparency. Accountability. Integrity. These are not optional—they are constitutional duties.
Healthcare must be justice, not charity.
Respectfully,
Dr. Tony Leachon
