So much graphing this week! Each bubble group rolled their own giant dice and we graphed the results and talked a little bit about probability! We also graphed by reaching into a paper bag and pulling out coloured items!
New math and literacy bins this week! We are learning subtraction using a ten frame inside a sensory bag filled with gel. We are also learning how to decompose numbers, practicing our sight word you and finding out missing letter sounds to complete words!
"Make it fair" number talks today - thinking about quantity.
Hoping to inspire #joyfulmath virtually with silly graphics like hot dogs and pizza. As children share their thoughts about how to organize the food, the graphics can be dragged and grouped on the screen.

Today we read the story “The Grouchy Ladybug” as an introduction to our math lesson! We practiced counting and adding on a ten frame! #FDK#MathMornings
Reading our sight word poem as a class this morning! We are almost perfect! Students had an opportunity to read it together and a few came up to read it on their own! We are using our “pointy pig” reading strategy this month! 🐷 📚 👀
Today we started learning about measuring with non-standard units! We measured dinosaurs and how far our wind up Santa could travel! 🎅 🦖 📏 #FDK#playbasedlearning
For math today we measured some of our favourite cartoon characters on the smartboard! We also played a measuring game online! Students have been loving experimenting with non-standard units! #math#FDK
For math today we explored weight and used the scale! We made predictions and then weighed the items to find out which one was heavier. We left the scale out during exploration time for students to explore on their own! #FDK#playbasedlearning#math
