Workshop: Drawing for Enjoyment, led by Frank Hayes
🗓️ Saturday 24 August, 1-3pm
📍 CAMPLE LINE, DG3 5HD
Next week, we welcome Frank Hayes back to CAMPLE LINE for our summer Drawing for Enjoyment session.
The group began by looking at some of the symbolisms and meanings of the colour red thought history. Guided by Lucy and Ed, they then processed some iron oxide together - collected from a source in Galloway - to make pigment and paint.
Our grateful thanks to Lucy Lee & Edward Campbell from @theoldmillpal
for leading a fascinating pigment workshop at CAMPLE LINE last Friday, inspired by artist Claire Barclay's current exhibition RAWLESS and focussed on red iron oxide.
You can visit the exhibition itself at CAMPLE LINE ahead of the event: Cample Mill, Cample, Thornhill, DG3 5HD
Open Thursday-Sunday, 11am-4pm (or by appointment out with those times)
Access: Both venues are wheelchair accessible. More access info available via the booking page.
We are delighted to welcome exhibiting artist Claire Barclay back to Nithsdale this August. Claire will give a talk at Old School Thornhill (OST) about her current exhibition RAWLESS in the context of her wider practice.
Location:
Old School Thornhill is located about 2 miles from CAMPLE LINE, in the village of Thornhill.
The address is: Old School Thornhill (OST), Station Road, Thornhill, DG3 5DF
