@LgDoucet Yeah, I guess brands will eventually be forced to take NFTs more seriously. Hopefully next cycle we'll see more well thought-out stuff from traditional IP. But as of now, most of it has felt cash-graby to me.
@FonzGm This is a no-brainer to me. Top Shot and All Day will onboard millions of people. Once people get a taste of ownership they can dive deeper into owning their own keys (if they’re inclined). Like a gateway drug.
@GiancarloChaux Tribalism will never die, but maybe as these communities harden their meme/story over the years, outside commentary won’t matter as much to them. But everything’s so new right now.
@Zeneca_33 I'm surprised some people are dismissing this. Everything is a meme. Punks are a meme. Apes are a meme. Each project has a narrative/story about them that gives them value. Price doesn't have much to do with "utility."
@punk9059 100%. Most physical things are bought to signal to others who you are. Not for utility. There's almost always a generic alternative if you want pure utility.
@punk9059 I think once a project loses the initial meme and attention, the market always continue to look elsewhere.
That doesn’t mean that all collections that are down big necessarily go to zero though. They can stay niche as long as there’s a community/product aside from “number go up”
@GiancarloChaux I think collectors want to be rewarded (for being an early adopter) in the early price discovery phase, rather than the initial fair market price going straight to the creator.
Communities need positive sentiment early and the easiest way is for everyone to start in the money.
@andy8052 I had this issue with my Ledger/MM all morning. I updated my Ledger to the latest firmware and it seemed to fix the issue, but it could've been a coincidence.
@GiancarloChaux The open edition but capped by just 10 minutes on Max Pain seems like a perfect model too.
The community chose how big the mint size would be with their dollars. Perfect free market economics while preserving future incentives for holders that open editions don't usually have.
@0xAllen_ They printed enough moments to accommodate millions of new users this year, but the user growth hasn't been there.
Top Shot will be back though, but maybe not soon. It’s still by far the smoothest way to on-board normies and what I recommend to all friends who are NFT-curious.
