what could have been a really fantastic opportunity for authors of serialized stories, was dropped before it even released to most ppl outside the U.S.
Pretty disappointing
Thing is though, it's not always about how "pleasant" your job is. Most workers have to spend the majority of their waking hours doing something they wouldn't actively choose to do otherwise, to make barely enough $ to live, while the rich get richer. You're allowed to complain🤷♂️
All the other TTRPGs would be kicking their feet seeing this, knowing this would do for them what Elon ruining Twitter has done for Bluesky. We all know he’d flood the game with A.I dogshit even more paywalls, and force everyone to jump ship
@hardbackhoarder I do think we agree 100%, I’m just a bit more pessimistic about how the wide public treats pirating 😂 it would be much better if everyone could access free books without the Authors wearing the cost
Reading is a right, but reading whatever you want at any time is a luxury. If you have Internet access to pirate Author’s books, you have Internet access to access digital lending, free books, virtual libraries or any other number of other things that don’t normalise stealing art
@hardbackhoarder I can totally agree with that. In a perfect world that’s exactly how it’d work, but something about making any form of art pirating a casual “thing” just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Feels a bit too much like the “paying artists with exposure” argument, y’know 🤷🏻♂️
@UnaVezMs8 yeah sure, I've heard really good things about Libby, and apparently Open Library is decent. ePubPub has a lot of free indie stuff. Spotify also now has audiobooks, for people who already have an account there. If you read on your phone, there's Raddish. I'm sure there's more
@UnaVezMs8 yeah, I understand that, but that's why I referenced digital lending and virtual libraries. There's always options for free books that benefit the artists, if you have access to the internet to download them
PLEASE HELP - My YouTube Channel has been hacked by scammers! I'm asking for help from @TeamYouTube as well as #DnD & RPGHorrorStories Community to help me signal-boost this and help me get my channel back. If you could share this with everyone you know, I'd be very grateful!
This picture pops up every Halloween. For the record, most Aussies also think this note is fuckin cringe. Most Aussies are either fine with Halloween or just don’t care
I love SK’s influence on horror as much as the next guy, but how many times are we going to revisit the same stories over and over before we focus on more of the fresh and new horror stories out there. So many are ripe for adaptation
It’s almost comical, you can put literal racism in your account handle and it’s not a breach of hate speech. You can report spam DMs as spam and it gets rejected. Literally wtf is the point of the reporting feature on @instagram , the app has become a cesspool
Instagram’s reporting is broken to an almost criminal degree. A.I. CP is apparently not a breach of their terms. I won’t post the rest of the picture, but it’s a child’s face on an A.I. Body in barely there lingerie. It’s fucked
