I feel compelled to add my condolences for the loss of Justice Belobaba. I remember his kindness to me as a young lawyer handling a criminal matter somewhat beyond my reach. And years later, the truly enjoyable class action defence I did before him. He will be missed.

@JKal @ClassActClinic I have fond memories of appearing before him from my time at Heenan Blaikie. I remember how supportive he was of junior litigators, telling my first chair in one case that it was important we had opportunities to “get up on our feet” and practice our craft. He will be missed.

So sad. RIP. May his memory be a blessing. I remember when he walked late to my my first law school class & his first teaching class in 1975 & the women in the room gasped aloud as if he were a rock star - which he was! He should have been on the Court of Appeal or even the SCC.
