@justjargons Best argument ever for entrusting the world to be run by billionaires. The closest we have in our species to people completely immune to criminal intent.
@elonmusk The dystopia won't be Skynet. Or the Matrix. It'll be the maximally-convincing-AI.
What happens to democracy if 51% of your people defer to the wisdom of your best AI?
Of every concerning outcome, this one is the soonest.
@poteto We'll need some sort of interface. But, they'll ideally be talking more to each other. Handling the background noise on your behalf.
You only need an interface if something's already gone wrong and the agent hasn't solved the problem before it caught your attention.
There are two kinds of @bot that I think a lot of people are missing.
Jester - find the worst thing your bots are doing every day. Improve them.
Security - look through your machines and let you know when something is wrong or out of date. Learn and adapt over time.
@sacrelicio Because having free people and opportunity works. We keep taxes low and keep gov't from running peoples' lives.
Alberta's not 'conservative' in the US sense; eg, some of the lowest religiosity in the entire country.
In a nation of Rousseaus and Foucaults, we try to be Locke.
Hi! Big fan of your skills work!
My struggle with AI heavy development right now is that the codebase starts getting highly mutable throughout. As a c++ dev, this is a breath of fresh air and a *good* thing ... but there is some structure that needs to be pinned more firmly to a purpose.
Documenting architecture helps, but having some hints in code can highlight code nuance that is load-bearing. The important part is making sure that these are important, relatively rare, and don't send your agents off on wild tangents.
@Marakath If you want to end censorship*today* replace the terms with corporation names. Corn->Coke. Unalived->Unilever. Grape->Netflix no-chill.
Words are being blocked because brands find them uncomfortable. Show them it could be worse.
@NickJFreitas You haven't yet saved your own country from this.
You see that, right? What happens when your election system is rewritten and your supreme court expanded in 2 years?
