Obviously the battle was a huge moment in hip hop and everything that followed gave him more exposure. He lost a bunch of listeners because many people tuned in just for the beef tracks. Like his mass appeal didn’t change just cause he beefed Drake.

Nonetheless he also retained a bunch of listeners meaning the exposure did give him a new fans.

After the fact, Drake remains more popular and it makes sense considering how palatable and consumable his music is.

Kendrick having 70M listeners with the kind of music and albums he releases is still super fucking impressive.

Obviously if yall just wanna talk streaming numbers, Drake is #1

But diff people listen to music for diff reasons and judge it through their own standards.
