Choosing to stay calm in the midst of being offended is as much a gift to myself as it is to my offender. And it’s the kind of gift I want to give more and more each day.
“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Proverbs 15:1
Let's tell grumpy it's not getting us today. We're throwing open the windows of our souls. We want to be drenched in a light-filled perspective allowing us to REALLY SEE all the good, amazing, incredible gifts from God all around us.
Joy breeds joy! Yes. Let’s have more of that.
When we're walking in the fullness of God's love we are much more able to let people have moments where they are fragile, fickle and forgetful.
We realize relationships come in packages of potential, not perfection.
And we can more freely give the gift of grace.
Parents,
The church can only do so much for your children they only get to see once or twice a week (if they’re lucky). Discipleship must start at home.
God is good at being God.
We don’t have to try to fix what He hasn’t assigned us to fix. No need to manipulate, control or spend all our emotions trying to figure it out.
We can let Him be God & free ourselves from the impossible assignment of trying to keep it all together.
It’s okay to feel hurt and confused, friend. God is big enough to handle our honest feelings. But don’t let your feelings lead you away from God or away from His truth.
Press into Him. Praise Him. And put yourself in the company of truth.
God looks for FRUIT in our lives, rather than the GIFT on our lives. Fruit is cultivated. Gifts are given. CHARACTER is ALWAYS more important than talent.
You may have wandered
You may have stumbled
You may have tripped
You may have fallen
You may have crashed
You may have failed
It doesn’t mean you’re finished
It doesn’t mean it’s over
Throw yourself into the gracious, loving and merciful hands of God.
He will pick you up!
