@ajmarquis 100% agree. it's also why i get why people are still here, because it's like well, it has gotten a lot worse here, but the issues aren't that different from how they used to be. it may be a huge difference, but it's a quantitative one, not a qualitative one.
@ajmarquis which is demonstrated by the sheer stupidity of the original issue. "haus's comics are ineffective propaganda" is so inane it doesn't even warrant an acknowledgement. it only works in a an environment where people are bringing their own bootstrapped contexts to things.
@ajmarquis so everyone is trying to tug at the crowd by participating in discourse, but the crowd can only be moved by broad impulse and emotional impression. as a result, no conversation can be held and therefore no real understanding can be gained.
and like yeah, it's pretty unlikely i'll be making anything that will go viral, but i like, i do in fact want attention on my work. i just want the ability to control that in the event it gets out of hand.
the main concern is that i don't want the trash of this website piling on me in droves in the off chance that anything i make goes viral. but if i don't want to go viral what's the point? but then i remembered i can artificially stop it if it gets out of hand by privating.
