Dear @ScottPelley
Thank you.
Thank you for standing up when it was inconvenient.
Thank you for standing up when it cost you a job you loved.
Thank you for standing up to power and for trying to save a landmark news program.
Thank you for your INTEGRITY.
Spread this photo far and wide - because the media isn't doing its job in telling the story about an increasingly unhinged president who is unfit to serve.

ICYMI: Kentucky Democratic leaders gathered at the Capitol last week to call out Republicans for cheating teachers out of raises and ignoring affordable housing.
Republicans had every opportunity to do right by Kentuckians this session and chose not to.
One month after starting the war in Iran, this is the statement of the President of the United States on Easter Sunday.
These are the ravings of a dangerous and mentally unbalanced individual. Congress has got to act NOW. End this war.
This is an actual post. This is not funny. This is beyond desperate. This is a deeply unwell man who doesn’t belong anywhere near the levers of power. Every member of his cabinet and Congress is complicit in not demanding his removal now.
It's important not to shy away from candidly discussing the President's increasingly erratic behavior. His worsening instability is a clear and growing threat, not only to the American people but to the world.
Labeling every American of the opposition political party as an enemy to the country may be the most un-American thing any president has ever said. Dangerous.
The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.
They had him on the ground. Six agents pinned him down. They disarmed him. They removed his gun from its holster. And THEN they shot him. Ten times. To repeat. AFTER they pinned him to the ground, and AFTER they disarmed him, they shot him. Ten times.
They murdered him.
Alex Pretti was a Minneapolis ICU nurse who spent his days caring for and saving others. Today, he was shot and killed by a Border Patrol Agent. Alex’s life was extinguished by state violence. We must tell the truth about what is happening.
My father warned us, “When evil men plot, good men must plan. When evil men burn and bomb, good men must build and bind.”
What we are witnessing now (masked raids, people taken without due process, vigilante, Gestapo, and slave patrol-like tactics normalized under the color of law) is a moral crisis.
Nonviolence demands more than outrage; it demands action.
Congress must dismantle ICE; enact just, humane immigration policies; and ensure implementation of the policies by people who honor the humanity of Black and Brown immigrants, respect those raising their voices in support of immigrants, and seek the safety of community.
The blood of those who are being kidnapped and unjustly killed by agents with impunity is not only on the hands of those who pull the trigger, but on every lawmaker and every court that has the power to intervene and chooses silence.
Creating the Beloved Community requires truth, accountability, and the courage to act before more lives are lost.

"Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart.
Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared."
Diary of Anne Frank
January 13, 1943
Alex Jeffrey Pretti, was fatally shot by federal officers in Minneapolis this morning. The shooting follows the previous shooting death of Renee Nicole Good by an agent on Jan. 7 in south Minneapolis. Pretti was a ICU nurse with the VA hospital, a graduate of the University of Minnesota, as well as employed there as a researcher.
From the emerging videos, it appears as if Pretti was trying to put his body in the way of ICE agents who were spraying chemical weapons at women engaged in peaceful protest and was shot several times. Governor Tim Walz has now activated the state’s National Guard to help protect the people of Minnesota as we wait and see what unfolds.
Whatever unfolds, this is the truth. These events are changing the very fabric of our country, of our character. People feel unmoored, unsafe, afraid. In Minneapolis, yes, but in other parts of the country as well.
This, my fellow Americans, is not who we are.
We are not meant to turn on one another. We are not meant to hide out in our homes, too afraid of one another. The Canadian prime mister was right when he said this is not a transition that is going on here in our beautiful country, this is a rupture.
We can step back, rise above, find our moral compass this is a Spirtual moment. We must ask ourselves can we tap into our humanity and the humanity of our neighbors? It is our only way forward. Peaceful civil disobedience has worked before. It is the path.
