Ask an ER doc about Canada's drinking problem and the insanity of Ontario's "convenience" over responsibility approach. This is what we see every night:
-Skull fractures and intracranial bleeding
-Limb fractures, facial fractures, facial lacerations, broken teeth 👇👇👇
-Liver cirrhosis, GI bleeding, ascites, liver failure, hepatic encephalopathy
-Depression, suicidal ideation
-Family crisis, family violence
-Assault of healthcare workers
-Violence and chaos in the ER requiring chemical and physical restraint
-Liver transplant and the many complications that will ensue
-Alcohol withdrawal and seizures that can be life threatening
-Drunk driving injuring the patient and others
-Pancreatitis with repeat admissions
-Intoxicated winter exposure with all sorts of cold injuries including death

For too much of Ontario and Canada, it's all a big joke. Grounds for a good laugh. Ask the patients, families and ER staff who pick up the pieces of people's lives how funny this all is. Reporting by: @OmarMosleh - @CAMHnews
