@SouthwestAir Still waiting for the new premium experience after sketchy WiFi between LAS/MDW and being forced to gate check roller bags (not just mine) on a not full flight to DET.
For prediction markets, while I owe thanks to more than 40 states, I need to particularly thank @OhioAG, @NewJerseyOAG, and the Maryland Office of Attorney General for their support on this important issue.
This has been quite a week for Nevada, between groundbreaking injunctive relief to start protecting our kids from defective social media platforms and the first appeals court decision supporting a state’s right to regulate gaming. Proud of all in the Office for the hard work!
Today, Attorney General Ford announced a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling affirming that Nevada’s gaming laws apply to sports-event contracts offered by Kalshi, https://t.co/oFqelT5na8 and Robinhood. The court unanimously rejected Kalshi’s challenge to Nevada’s authority.
You gave up the fight and wanted to let these companies off the hook easily. But Arizona and 33 other states kept fighting for every American who has been charged too much by this illegal monopoly and we won.
Attorney General Ford, alongside Secretary of State Aguilar, announced he is leading a coalition of 23 AGs and one governor in suing President Trump over an unconstitutional executive order that interferes with states’ authority by restricting voter eligibility and mail voting.
The President’s Executive Order on elections is illegal. The Constitution makes it clear: states run elections. The President's spent years attempting to manufacture a crisis around mail voting when there is none.
We’re going to fight against any attempts to silence our voters.
BREAKING: Nevada state court issues TRO barring Kalshi from offering event-based contracts relating to sports, politics and entertainment to people within Nevada without first obtaining all required licenses. TRO remains in effect for 14 days pending hearing on PI motion.
Last Friday, a handful of people made big, unusual $100,000+ bets on Polymarket - that the U.S. would strike Iran the next day.
The Iran War is fueling a new kind of corruption: White House officials secretly profiting off war.
It's disgusting. We need to ban it.
Some interesting developments in the legal battle between Nevada, the gambling capital of the US, vs Kalshi, the largest CFTC-regulated prediction market 👇
BREAKING: Ninth Circuit denies Kalshi's emergency motion for administrative stay, which now opens the door to Nevada filing an immediate civil enforcement action (today) against Kalshi in state court, with TRO issuance expected within a few days.
ICYMI -- "The Nevada attorney general’s office filed a “friend of the court” brief on behalf of the state of Maryland in its continuing battle against prediction markets that are taking sports bets the state says are in violation of Nevada gaming laws. "

Today, Nevada Attorney General Aaron D. Ford announced he co-led a coalition of 37 states and D.C. in filing an amicus brief with the Fourth Circuit defending states’ long-standing authority to regulate sports betting within their borders.
From AG Ford:
"I am proud to stand with Craig Newby as he received bipartisan recognition as the Senior Staffer of the Year from the National Association of Attorneys General.
Our office and its staff are second to none, and I am proud of all we’ve accomplished this year."
@ErikJimenezNV Credit goes to the client and the team on this one. It is hard to convince any judge to change their mind, which is what happened with today’s order.
Federal judge rules that Kalshi must stop offering prediction contracts in Nevada
The ruling comes seven months after the judge granted a preliminary injunction against gaming regulators who ordered the company to cease operations.

In the last few years we've seen:
- The plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer
- The Storming of the Capitol and pipe bombs left at the RNC and DNC
- The break-in to kidnap Nancy Pelosi and the brutal on Paul Pelosi
- Multiple assassination attempts against Trump
- The assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband and the shooting of on State Senator John Hoffman and his wife
- Luigi Mangione's assassination of Brian Thompson
- The assassination of Charlie Kirk
Political violence is contagious. It is spreading. It is not confined to one side or belief system. It should terrify us all.
The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in it without fear of violence. Political violence is always an attack against us all. You have to be so blind not to see that.
What’s that old expression? Don’t piss down my back and tell me it’s raining? Well that applies here. The stock market is a direct reflection of Trumps 1st 100 days in office. Doesn’t mean it won’t get better and that we don’t need to be patient, but this is his market not Bidens
Standing up to the federal government’s strong-arming takes courage — and FIRE applauds @Harvard for not caving to the federal government’s unlawful demands.
We’ve long been critical of Harvard’s inability to fairly protect the free speech of all students and faculty, but we must not allow the government to coerce, extort, or capture our colleges. A principled defense of academic freedom requires no less.
