central valley sucks because the beautiful and magnificent yellow billed magpie is here but also you live in the central valley so there’s nothing to smile about
did NOT expect to see anything before the sun went down completely but we saw a barn owl pair and watched one grab a tricolored blackbird from the sleeping colony in the wild mustard :0

the ibises in this pic were at the dry creek reservoir grasslands in clovis (shepherd/dewolf)!! if you go there rn, there’s a huge tricolored blackbird colony :0
@coughdropsh i hate it here too❤️ they don’t get reported much outside of april-may. the flood control district reservoirs are gonna be the best spots for them!!
fresno WTP is a prime spot but is closed to the public except for audubon society members. the madera one is open tho!
