I kept wondering, why not adapt some of these mechanics for a new medium? it's been done before, no? I kept wondering what BG3 would look if they didn't have to stick to an old and storied TTRPG. The answer, folks, is Divinity
What are your top five cRPG's?
Personally mine are:
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
Knights of the Old Republic
Baldur's Gate 3
Dragon Age Origins
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
save slots for later. BG3, on the other hand, is a VIDEO GAME, it does not have a reactive DM. A bunch of (talented!) people at Larian wrote a script and you must follow it. Of course BG3 is more open than other games of its class, but it is still defined by its script. cont.
@arvofart@Chunkypiss1 *you* might not be lying, but it's kind of naive to think people don't lie about their taste, either to signal their intelligence/refinement or to fit into an in-group
@IngasGold I think it's cause their movies have mass cultural appeal, but only get theatrically released on two screens in one country. this is their way of capitalising on the moment. but it raises the question of why not to put the movie on more screens
