The Memphis Police Department is saddened to announce the passing of Officer Daniel Adams, who died following an off-duty single-vehicle accident on June 18, 2026, where Officer Adams was the only victim.
Officer Adams joined the Memphis Police Department in 2016 and faithfully served the citizens of Memphis for nearly 10 years. He was assigned to Tillman Station.
"We are heartbroken by the loss of Officer Adams," said Chief C.J. Davis. "He dedicated his career to serving others, and his passing is a tremendous loss to our department. We ask the community to keep his family, friends, and fellow officers in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
The Memphis Police Department extends its deepest condolences to Officer Adams' family, loved ones, and colleagues. His service to the City of Memphis will be remembered, and his loss will be deeply felt throughout our department and community.
