Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) suffered a stroke yesterday after experiencing numbness in his arm while attending his son’s hockey game, according to his chief of staff.

Murphy is awake, alert, and responding well to treatment at Johns Hopkins. Doctors are encouraged by his progress and optimistic he will make a full recovery.
