@JeppeSun@Scott_Maxwell Yeah, if only there were investigative journalists doing their jobs! Let me see what this column says about that… oh, first sentence is “Last month, after the Orlando Sentinel published an eye-popping investigative piece on freshman legislator Carolina Amesty…”
@AnnaForFlorida Lots of overlap in ppl supporting this law and ppl who think the NCAA was justified it not providing for the women’s basketball teams because women’s sports aren’t as popular
@4lovebysara@POTUS@JoeBiden I seriously thought Democrats got over that when they decided to nominate "didn't inhale" Clinton. Didn't Obama say he smoked pot as a young person?
@Arti229@TheElliotPage Elliot: Even looking at photos when I presented female was depressing to me
@Arti229: I’M GONNA POST HIS OLD PICS AND DEADNAME HIM OUT OF LOVE!
@JackRottie@DevinHiggins@AlaricCDZ@justinbaragona This “I’m the *real* victim” type of thing is peak boomer energy. If it doesn’t apply to you, then move on. Otherwise you’re just the Medicare version of All Lives Matter or Not All Men type of bullshit
@DevinHiggins@justinbaragona I can’t remember how many times my boomer dad said that children are to be seen and not heard. I think I’ll take his advice now
@ARiverWanders @even_ife @JimClaxton1@_MariaBurnett You did say it was either/or when you used the word “instead.” Did you mean to say “invest in at-risk families and build up communities of color instead of investing in the for-profit prison system that literally penalizes states for low incarceration rates? Because I’d ❤️ that”
@TempusRimeblood@JimClaxton1@_MariaBurnett That’s a topic that deserves its own conversation, but yeah. Military spends years preparing ppl for war and 0 time preparing for civilian life
@JimClaxton1@_MariaBurnett Here’s an idea: if we prepare people for life outside of prison before they get out, give them relevant & adequate job training, & remove barriers to their civil liberties, we can significantly lower recidivism rates which benefits *everyone*
