It's a funny thing about the right to life. One who advocates for it believes each of us has the same and equal right to have our life respected. But in practice the greatest need to affirm the right is not for the healthy and strong (Shaq can negotiate an alleyway without me tagging along, for example), but for the weak and the vulnerable. If anyone has greater need of a right to life than I do, it's the child with a Trisomy or other malady. Defend those smaller than ourselves BECAUSE they are smaller.
Truly appreciate the leading Democratic women speaking out against these practices, especially on minors. I understand you do not wish to abandon the party over this issue, but you recognize the problem when Republicans adhere to their "man in charge" over his malfeasances. In politics, it is OK to draw a red line and make the party elite aware that they must change - and soon.
Bernie should know the facts before he speaks about this… and yes, it’s mostly girls that have surgeries, mutilating their bodies to actually de- sexualize themselves… pretty sad
My name is Renatta, I’m 45 years old, and I have a genetic condition.
Yes, I have some struggles, but I still live a full, productive, and joyful life.
Parents, if your unborn child is diagnosed with a genetic disorder, it isn’t a curse. Please give your child a chance at life. Their life won’t be perfect, but no one’s is. Let your child be a blessing to you and to others. Don’t throw away what God has given you.
It's part of the tragedy. The nations of Europe, which claim for the most part a common Christian heritage ("blessed are the peacemakers"), have been at each other's throats for more than a century. What should be a bond of mutual regard has not prevented savagery. It's hard to give up hope that this religious tie will ever foster an end to the greed and bloodshed.
It’s an explicable tragedy. Russia has been blessed with a people of religious faith, with an amazing literary tradition, with great poets, robust talent in science, and magnificent musicians and composers . All of it very western in character. It is also a vast country with a low population density, but it is ruled by a bloodthirsty leadership strung out on restoring some past glory rather than exploiting the immense possibilities of the future. Here and there, like the ISS, we have been able to cooperate with Russia’s leadership. We have no real contest with its people. It could have tremendous positive relations with Ukraine and its other neighbors. But the Kremlin would need to embrace that rather than its ideological visions of a former glory. Again, just tragic. The Putin regime must be defeated. Then perhaps we can return to the bargaining table and strive to reduce and ultimately eliminate nuclear weapons.
Why are we discarding human embryos based on their genetic desirability if we can heal babies after birth? - @emlwaters@realDailyWire https://t.co/mRLiXzxx32
It’s ok to feel something is morally superior, if it is. Here is an excellent site offering professional medical support to couples receiving a distressing fetal diagnosis. https://t.co/MgmeJYhV1o
90% of people who are told their fetus will have Down syndrome end the pregnancy. Virtually none talk about it. This is common and yet shrouded in shame. I’m not sure piling more shame onto it helps anyone, although I’m sure it makes some people feel morally superior.
So many children with Down syndrome are being killed in the womb, that a few years ago, France banned a video called "Dear Future Mom" of parents with their children for fear of making those who aborted them feel bad.
It reminded me of Orwell’s description of totalitarianism: “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face— forever.” That face, as it turns out, is the face of a child with Down syndrome. The government does not protect pre-born children, and so it must instead shelter from the truth the consciences of those who have killed their own children, thereby denying them the only real solution to this ongoing horror: repentance.

It's remarkable how little attention this story has gotten, even as the doctor who force-fed the abortion pill to his pregnant girlfriend has been indicted and has pleaded no contest.
One sign of continuing pro-life grassroots strength is the mundane fact of license plates - some 37 states offer full or half-plate versions. Pro-choice ones? Not so much. This should be front-page driving news. https://t.co/qzaYUVQQ4T
"Jon was born just as prenatal genetic testing, which can detect Down syndrome, was becoming common," wrote George Will in his 2012 column. "And Jon was born eight months before Roe v. Wade inaugurated this era of the casual destruction of pre-born babies.
This era has coincided, not just coincidentally, with the full, garish flowering of the baby boomers' vast sense of entitlement, which encompasses an entitlement to exemption from nature's mishaps, and to a perfect baby. So today science enables what the ethos ratifies, the choice of killing children with Down syndrome before birth. That is what happens to 90 percent of those whose parents receive a Down syndrome diagnosis through prenatal testing.
Which is unfortunate, and not just for them. Judging by Jon, the world would be improved by more people with Down syndrome, who are quite nice, as humans go. It is said we are all born brave, trusting and greedy, and remain greedy. People with Down syndrome must remain brave in order to navigate society’s complexities. They have no choice but to be trusting because, with limited understanding, and limited abilities to communicate misunderstanding, they, like Blanche DuBois in 'A Streetcar Named Desire,' always depend on the kindness of strangers. Judging by Jon’s experience, they almost always receive it."
Unable to deal with the baby dearth, or their own cooperation with the truly disparate impact of abortion on minorities, they launched a completely counterfactual slander. Perhaps the numbers are now so awful that they can no longer pursue their fictional folly? PS after 54 years in the prolife cause I have never met a racist or Groyper in its ranks. If there were one he would have been sidelined from the get-go.
