The type specimen’s paper tear collage has subtle nods to newspapers of old and feature subtle nods to a 1930s boxing match between American Joe Louis and German Max Schemling as an homage to both my time growing up in Germany and Ben’s Phoenix specimen, as well as my American roots and the american grotesks that have inspired my career.
