Chapters such as **"Kings and Chronicles: The Mughal Courts" (Class 12 History), "Democracy and Diversity," "Popular Struggles and Movements," and "Challenges to Democracy" (Class 10 Political Science), references to Gandhi's assassination, the RSS ban, the 2002 Gujarat riots (Class 12 Political Science/Sociology), sections on Caste Discrimination and Untouchability, and even "Heredity and Evolution" and the Periodic Classification of Elements (Class 10 Science) have been removed or reduced. In my view, this isn't about reducing students' workload it's about controlling the narrative. A generation that never learns uncomfortable truths is easier to manipulate, less likely to question authority, and more likely to accept propaganda as history. Education should produce critical thinkers, not unquestioning followers. A democracy weakens when facts are edited to suit those in power.
