Christians Against Poverty NI: equipping local churches to serve their communities empowering them to deliver free debt help, Job Clubs and Life Skills courses
The cost of heating a home to a healthy temperature is out of reach for many families. Some householders are resorting to only heating one room.
Support @nea_ukcharity's #FuelPovertyAwarenessDay.
Over a quarter of NI households told us in our @LucidTalk poll that they have been sitting in a cold home wearing coats, blankets or using a hot water bottle within the last 24 months. This is due to rising energy prices and the cost of living.

Fuel poverty is a year-round crisis that doesn’t end with the winter.
Badly insulated small flats and overcrowded homes can overheat quickly.
People need to run fans, keep fridges with medicines, and use extra water.
Health risks spike with inside temperatures over 25C.

There is no Warm Home Discount scheme in NI. Households remain in crisis over energy bills. There is urgent need for greater energy bill support, including:
• Introduction of the Warm Home Discount scheme.
• Introduction of an energy social tariff for those in the greatest need.
