@StephenBrowne4@jpbc991 Well everyone can have a laugh at ye this evening but with Cork & its supporters it would be a quiet championship - i think the colour, passion & loyalty to team is unrivalled - BOC will have learned a lot & last years all ireland has left mark
@SmallerFishGAA@JohnOBrien78812@Mike1745343@john_tippe70046 Ask club coaches/selectors/managers and there opinion is a lot different - cant motivate players/playing nearly year round/injuries due to long season/no meaningly games months on end - players are only one shareholder in GAA
@JohnOBrien78812@Mike1745343@john_tippe70046@SmallerFishGAA Id go with something like URC in Rugby - that the league counts towards Championship - top 8 qualify for Champions Cup makes all games relevant as seen this year - something to keep club players motivated - rather than 8months of nothing
@JC_TIPP@SmallerFishGAA Iagree a set calender is best but i dont see how it is sustainable that clubs are nearly training the whole year round & so little meaningful championship action - like Amateur soccer/Rugby - Every Sat/Sun- Sept to April - anyway maybe Semi finals will throw up two classics
@JC_TIPP@SmallerFishGAA definitely wouldn't be in favour of longer inter county season but there must be some incentive for club players in late march/April/early May - the old format was better than this if anything.then rushing munster/lein champ week after week till burnout
@JC_TIPP@SmallerFishGAA Vitality? One club in traditional county started individual gym sessions before christmas - collective gym first week of Jan. Grass session 1st March - its now 1st July - 30 on panel - still no match in 8months - prob will get 6/7 weeks max out of it when it starts - crazy
@JohnnyDineen Thats it Johnny - going on all week - absolutely no desire to win & take chances - its why Roy Keane was one of the great players - he took the game to teams - rare characteristic now
@JohnOBrien78812@john_tippe70046@SmallerFishGAA No but now your competing with Premiership/Rugby now where there is no question of games not being televised - like the All Ireland semi's are weekend but outside competing counties does anyone care - world cup has taken over & ireland star rugby tour at weekend - maybe im wrong
@JohnOBrien78812@john_tippe70046@SmallerFishGAA Id imagine he means Wall to Wall World cup coverage - every match live - while half the summer no one could see a game - Kildare for example first time Senior hurling & very competitive - not one game live on RTE1/2 all summer ππ chance gone
@JohnOBrien78812@john_tippe70046@SmallerFishGAA Most rural clubs at nothing since last October - matches only starting again - big county teams gone 3/4 weeks ago - its hard enough to keep hurling going in lesser counties - never mind traditional counties going downhill
Sweden,Ivory Coast,Paraguay are underdogs but they have offered nothing going forward in attacking sense - no creativity or aggression - none can argue when they leave the tournament
