@BaelorIII2002@mannyball_ I’m from Switzerland you might know it, lots of Saudis come here in summer and somehow leave their standards at the border.
And in Switzerland when you build something new, you build it around what’s already there, not over it. Somehow, it preserves both history and dignity.
The reaction to this post says a lot about where the ummah is today. It’s becoming normal to show off all the “fun” and touristic things done in Madinah, like it’s just another destination. We’ve lost that sense of reverence for places meant to remind us of something deeper
@miskimali Imam Malik refused to ride an animal in Madinah out of respect for the Prophet ﷺ, saying he felt ashamed to let an animal’s hoof touch the ground where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ walked.
Different time I guess
@tm_maths@basbitsudania Islam isn’t complicated. Practicing it properly is. That’s why generations of scholars spent their lives trying to understand what it truly means to be a sincere Muslim.
@tm_maths@basbitsudania “Deen isn’t complicated” is way to justify things that aren’t technically haram, but still don’t sit right with the spirit of Islam. It ends up turning the religion into a checklist, instead of something that actually shapes how we act, especially in sacred settings.
@basbitsudania@real1tytv You know what, next time you’re in the Rawdah, just bring a chessboard and have a game with your friend. Obviously after you’re done with your ‘“Ibadah”
because having fun in holy places isn’t haram, right?
@real1tytv@basbitsudania So you’re telling me that being at Uhud, next to the shuhada, is the right moment for a friendly game rather than reflection and prayer?
@basbitsudania Not everything has to be about vibing. You have the rest of the year for that. Maybe show a bit more respect and solemnity in a place where many died for the sake of Allah.
@basbitsudania The issue isn’t playing padel in Medina. The issue is doing it right next to Mount Uhud. And if you’re not a local and you’ve come for Umrah, why spend time playing padel when you could be at the mosque?
