August #Rodin—born #OnThisDay in 1840—is widely regarded as the founder of modern sculpture. Some of his most celebrated works, including "Psyche" (1899) & “Eternal Springtime” (modeled about 1881; cast about 1916–17), are on view at the MFA.
Before he created his famed gardens and water lily pond at Giverny, Claude #Monet primarily painted the surrounding countryside.
