1/x So having watched that AOC speech, I have several thoughts. One of them is that the AOC of 2024 is not the AOC of 2018. This is not to suggest that she's abandoned her core policies (GND, M4A, etc.). She's calculated that the audience this gets preached to matters.
There is a powerful movement of working class people in the state of Maine, and millions more across America who are ready to send a progressive fighter to the Senate. I’ve been fighting for that movement my whole life — and I’m sure as hell not backing down now, when this fight is needed most.
I’m in. And we're going to defeat Susan Collins. Maine deserves a Senator that will fight for working families.
@mehdirhasan breaks down the ‘right to exist’ argument about Israel and why the discourse is clear Israeli propaganda plus he shares three ways you can counter-argument if you find yourself stuck in the same bullsh*t debate.
As of now, I have Kiros on track to win by about 14 points and Hickenlooper by roughly 6-7. Denver saw a sizable turnout surge yesterday, especially among younger voters, leaving a lot of progressive-leaning vote outstanding in Denver and across the state.
Democratic socialist Melat Kiros beat U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette in a Colorado House primary, a stunning victory for the first-time candidate against a nearly 30-year incumbent.

NEW: The morning after the socialists swept, the establishment had its excuse ready: Claire Valdez and Darializa Avila Chevalier only won because of gentrification.
It was a convenient narrative.
It is also false. And we can prove it:

@maevehove I wonder what they do with 11. If they do it the same way as Hochulmander 1.0, that means you create a Brooklyn -> Staten Island district containing neighborhoods like Park Slope, Red Hook, etc and you could potentially run Alexa Aviles for that.
FWIW, I did some slightly more in-depth EI work, which is always difficult in races like this and should be taken with a grain of salt. But it is probably more informative than just looking at plurality-Black precincts, and I have DAC winning Black voters by 16 over Espaillat.
